Solana considers her artwork as a way of prayer. Although painting has been a life-long dream Solana only started studying art in College in 2003 and has a minor in visual art. Her studies included Thangka painting, watercolor, chinese brushstroke, basic and figure drawing and working with Acrylics and Oils One practice includes the Old Masters Misch Technique of painting the illusion of light into the painting learned from Philip Rubinov in Austria during the summer of 2005. This is apparant in the Light of Hope painting listed in thumbnail sketch. She continued her training in the Arts and Consciousness Program at JFK at through the Art Department of College of Marin.
