Solana first met Swamiji in the summer of 1980 when she attended his month long yoga teachers training program in Connecticut.
Swamiji is famous for opening the Woodstock Festival and building the Lotus Shrine in Yogaville, Virginia. Yogaville, a special place on the banks of the James River with the majestic Blue Ridge Mountains in the back drop of a one thousand acre area retreat center.
The Light of Truth Universal Shrine (Lotus), is the standing shrine to the teachings that Swamiji impressed upon Solana at the age of eighteen, “Truth is One, Paths are Many.” It is dedicated to the light of all faiths and world peace. It’s lotus blossom shape is an ancient symbol for the unfolding of the soul. Every day at noon, silent meditation and prayer is held for people of all faiths and backgrounds to come together.
“Truth is One, Paths are Many,” lies deep in Solana's heart and she prays that all human beings can embrace it.
In 2001 Solana went to India for the first time and did a six-week pilgrimage there with Swamiji and his disciples. that was when she met Amma. In 2002 she was blessed
to see Swami Satchidanada at Yogaville on Guru Purnima before
he passed away the following month.

"Your ultimate goal is to be happy. Where is that happiness? Within you. If you want to have permanent happiness, it will never come from outside. If somebody makes you happy today, the same person will make you unhappy tomorrow. You are happiness and peace personified. Find that happiness and peace within you."
—His Holiness Sri Swami Satchidananda

People think yoga is about doing asanas or yoga postures. The aim of all the Yoga practices is to stop anything from disturbing the mind so that it can reflect the Peace and Joy that is your true nature.
